Privacy
This policy explains what personal information Toxlens collects, why we collect it, and what we do with it. The short version: we collect very little, we never sell it, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.
What we collect
Newsletter signups
When you join the newsletter, we collect your email address. It’s stored with Brevo, the email platform we use to send the newsletter, and we use it for one thing: sending you the emails you signed up for. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you from the list. You can also email us and we’ll remove you by hand.
When you email us
If you contact us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it to reply, and for nothing else. We don’t add you to the newsletter unless you ask.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand which articles people read and how they found the site. It uses cookies and collects usage data such as pages visited, approximate location, and device type. We use this in aggregate to decide what to research next; we don’t use it to identify you, and we don’t run advertising or ad personalization. Google describes how it handles this data in its privacy policy.
Server logs
Like almost every website, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, request time, pages requested) for security and troubleshooting. These are routine and not used to profile anyone.
Affiliate links and other sites
Some links on this site are affiliate links (see our affiliate disclosure). When you click through to a retailer or any other third-party site, their privacy policy applies from that point on, not ours.
Cookies
The cookies on this site come from Google Analytics, described above. You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings and the site will still work.
Your choices
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email luc@lucdossis.com and we’ll act on it promptly. Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR (Europe), CCPA (California), or the Australian Privacy Act may give you these rights formally; we honor the requests either way.
Who we are
Toxlens is operated by Luc Dossis from Melbourne, Australia. Questions about this policy can go to luc@lucdossis.com.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the reviewed date below. We won’t quietly start collecting more than what’s described here.
